The proposal was to adapt and upgrade the existing building by means of refurbishment and redistribution of space. By planning to open up the interior spaces to the exterior and by taking full advantage of an outdoor living space that is elevated above street level, it is possible to ensure privacy within the house.
Functionally, the house is distributed over two floors, plus attic. In order to make the most of the elevated garden and ocean views it was decided to place all communal areas of the home (living room, dining room and kitchen) on the first floor. The ground floor incorporates a service area linked to the garage, both with independent and direct access to the outside.
