The multi-unit residential building consists of 13 (one, two and three bedroom apartments) spread over 3 floors and attic. The proposed form is distinguished by the horizontal floor slabs that extend beyond the footprint of the building, creating a sense of weightlessness. The blind façades will be broken up by window openings and sliding doors, spanning the whole height between the horizontal slabs, and lending rhythm to the façade. The roof, clad with flat tiles (in harmony with the cladding used on neighbouring roofs), covers various planes and extends right down to the horizontal line of the top-floor window rails. Full advantage was taken of the reduction in constructed floor area by the adding of external vertical structures, which allow for the extension of the outdoor living areas or “suspended terraces.” Thanks to their being so lightweight, these metal structures do not interfere with the building’s form, increasing the quality of the social areas of each unit and adding to their size.
