Located at the corner of Braamcamp and Mouzinho da Silveira streets in central Lisbon, this project consists of the refurbishment of a mixed-use services building into a 24-unit residence with some commercial premises. The facade will be carefully preserved and renovated and the original characteristic grid design will be retained. The change of the building’s programme includes an almost silent exterior transformation, providing visual harmony to the whole and reframing its presence among neighbouring buildings.
The units range from studios to three-bedroom apartments and are designed with large openings to maximise natural light in each dwelling. Maximum outdoor space has been provided in the form of private balconies, a communal interior courtyard and rooftop terraces. On the ground floor, large window displays are set back from the white-coloured exterior to create a discreet distinction that emphasises the commercial area. Completion of Braamcamp 5 is expected in 2021.
