A small refuge within the city

The Santana à Lapa 94 residential building is located in Estrela, one of Lisbon’s urban regeneration areas. Maintaining and recovering the original façades, the architectural design seeks to preserve the identity that characterised the building while introducing a more contemporary line connecting the past and present formally, constructively and structurally.

Composed of a single-family dwelling distributed over three floors, the close relationship between the social areas and the inner courtyard leads and distributes the natural lighting to the whole complex, providing a small refuge within the city. The attic houses an additional dwelling with independent access.
