The proposal focused on the reorganization of interior spaces, rehabilitation of the front and rear façades, and redevelopment/conversion of outside space into parking and a communal recreation area. The century-old building is distributed over 5 floors (basement, ground level, 1st and 2nd floors and attic).
Solar orientation led to the repositioning of rooms (each apartment has independent access on each floor), with living areas placed at the rear of the block and bedrooms at the front. The introduction of a metal frame against the rear, southeast façade, permits interior living spaces to be extended to the exterior. This concept of suspended terraces allows for the creation of outdoor living spaces, without compromising the characteristics of the pre-existing façade; privacy is insured by the distance from neighbouring buildings, which are located the other end of the block.
