Conversion of office into housing

The pre-existing dimensions were adapted to the new use and one of the starting points for this intervention was the opening of ample spaces in the main façade, improving the view of the River Tagus from the interior of the apartments.

Located on a consolidated urban front marked by regular, continuous architecture, the old office building was converted into a residential apartment block.

This was the first restoration work done on this building and, as such, the need for integration of the architecture with the surrounding buildings was taken into account. The pre-existing dimensions were adapted to the new use and one of the starting points for this intervention was the opening of ample spaces in the main façade, improving the view of the River Tagus from the interior of the apartments. The introduction of a sliding door system was aimed at controlling the amount of light coming in and giving privacy to life in the common areas, while at the same time allowing rhythm to be added to the façade. The building consists of 5 apartments, one of which is a duplex (five bedrooms). The remainder are four-bedroom apartments. The rooftop terrace is for the use of the entire condominium. It also has a swimming pool, making it possible to take advantage of the location and beautiful view. Evidently open to light and the view.
