Santa Luzia

The uncovered exterior staircase core organizes the circulation and culminates on the rooftop, where a shared swimming pool offers an uninterrupted view over the lagoon.
The organization of the original façade was preserved as an urban reference, maintaining the single-storey scale and the alignment of the openings. For those walking along the street, the perception remains similar to the pre-existing structure, although its function is now merely apparent: behind it, the entrance, garage, and a garden are arranged, turning it into a kind of stage façade that ensures the continuity of the pedestrian block. The new volume rises within the plot, physically independent from the pre-existing structure. It develops in cantilever on the upper floors, through a play of projections and recesses that made it possible to accommodate the apartments and their respective outdoor spaces, always oriented towards the Ria Formosa, reinforcing the privileged relationship with the landscape.

The sober materiality, the predominance of white, and the volumetry draw on references from Mediterranean architecture, ensuring integration within the context while simultaneously asserting a contemporary language.
