Santa Marta
Santa Marta is founded on the principle of making the most of the panoramic views over Cascais and the sea, in a proposal that enhances its surroundings. The multifamily residential building is composed of ten independent apartments, all sharing the key feature of large glazed surfaces that open onto generous outdoor living areas. A compact volume punctuated by openings in the façade creates a play of solid and void, resulting in a dynamic interplay between opaque sunlit surfaces and translucent shaded areas. Timber cladding envelops the volume, contrasting with exposed concrete that defines the projecting slabs. This combination introduces a mutable rhythm to the façade, shaped by the shifting patterns of light and shadow throughout the day.
