The building is south facing and is developed along a slope framed by the local topography.
An apartment complex overlooking the ocean

With a privileged location in the city centre of Sesimbra, this intervention aimed to recover and adapt a building constructed between the 80s and 90s to new ways of living, enhancing its relationship with the surrounding views and landscape.
Formally, the multifamily housing programme consists of 28 two- and three-bedroom apartments distributed over seven floors, each with a private outdoor area creating a visual relationship between the interior and the ocean. The distribution of apartments and the interior spaces in general were configured to ensure greater fluidity and transparency in the relationship between them and with private and common exterior areas. The redesign of these spaces allowed for the creation of larger typologies with a strong connection to the sea views to the south. New entrances for natural light and ventilation were created in all the spaces of the dwellings through the opening of interior patios and light wells.

Private parking and several underground storage spaces are located in the area below the slope of the hillside. A communal outdoor lounge area with swimming pool was created on the roof, taking advantage of the building's relationship with the sea as a plateau on a hillside.

The pedestrian accesses to the apartment block are established from entrances on Rua Padre Honório Ferreira and on Rua Bahia de Sesimbra, which distribute the exterior, interior, horizontal and vertical circulations of the various floors.
