Melides

In earthen tones, the transition between the construction and the landscape is harmonious, privileging tranquillity and nature.
The building consists of a single flat-roofed volume, from which a central mass is subtracted to create a courtyard around which the entire house is arranged. The layout and configuration of this volume allow for the creation of outdoor spaces with greater privacy and indoor spaces with varied relationships to the surroundings. Inside, the programme is organised from the north, where access to the central courtyard provides visual connections between different areas of the house. The right wing contains the social areas, highlighted by large glazed openings that overlook the terrace and swimming pool. In the central and left sections, five suites are laid out—two of them independent—yet all maintaining a strong connection with the surrounding landscape.
