The most striking element of the pre-existence, the industrial chimney, not only remains but becomes the centrepiece of the project. Vertical and robust, it continues to shape the silhouette of the corner and to tell the story of the place. Now embraced by west-facing terraces, it is transformed into an axis of interaction between interior and exterior. The chimney breathes, integrated into the building, no longer just as a preserved memory, but as an active part of everyday living.

The intervention enhances the original identity through the restoration of the façades, the preservation of original details, and respect for the proportions and dialogue with the block. At the same time, the added floors take on a distinct language, clad in timeless, luminous lioz stone. The design of the openings lets in the natural light and continues the vertical alignments of the pre-existence, creating harmony between past and present.
